Thar Cafe Restaurant - Restaurant in Jaisalmer - Jaisalmer, India

We had dinner at Thar Cafe restaurant last night. We stopped by based on the reviews. We were wanting to try something new and the menu had plenty to choose from. The view of the fort was nice and you have several options to choose from for seating inside and out. We had Dal Bati Churma which was delicious. There was only one man cooking so while it did take quite awhile for our food to come out, we knew it was fresh when it did. The cook, which we believe may be the owner was very friendly and a very good cook. We can only give That Cafe 3 stars because of cleanliness. Everything was very dirty. The tables looked like they have not been wiped down in a very long time, as well as the table cloths and the cushions you sit on. It was actually dirty enough that normally we would have not even eaten there. Therefore, even though the food came out great - not sure we can recommend this place.

This place is near by railway station and opposite to the jaisalmer fort. The view from the cafe at the night to too good. I met Abhishek , Bhawani bhaiya and jaffer at this cafe. All three are amazing and very friendly. My whole jaisalmer trip was planned by them. The food is delicious and come in the budget. Alcohol is served here. They accept all kind of digital payment and UPI. No card payment available. Visit this place and talk with the host they will guide you properly. Also be kind to them :)

We ordered a thali to try what is the best but believe me it was the worst food i tasted in jaisalmer. They took more than 20 minutes to bring and everything tastes like it have little stones.

Good cafe for hanging out. Has good offering for foods and has option of doing WFH with Wifi and charging facilities. Plus view from the roof is mesmerizing.

The place has a open rooftop traditional seating style with a picturesque vie of the fort wall. The three musketeers of the cafe(Jeetu, Sam and Paliwal) will not shy away from helping you plan your days while you are in Jaisalmer. Gave us a great company during our dinner and shared the history of the city with us. A must visit cafe for some good home style cooked meal and a very lit up ambience. One should start their Jaisalmer trip after visiting this cute little cafe!

Very bad experience!! Would not recommend it to anyone!! After waiting half an hour for food, my girlfriend ordered a Margherita pizza because she didn't want too much spices... The pizza came without cheese, full of bbq sauce and onion, we asked about the cheese and the man said no cheese, he could not speak a word of English, we were trying to explain to him that we won't pay the full price cause there is no cheese.. But not luck on understanding each other.. I ordered some food with roti, he brought 3 pieces of roti at the table, then I asked him why 3 pieces I only asked 1.. And he just smiled.. When the bill came he charged us full price for the pizza and charged us 3 pieces of roti... Really bad service food below average. Stay away
