This temple is located in the middle of the small pond and it is one of the historical place of Chebrolu. This temple was built in the 18th century during the region of Sri Raja Vasireddy Venkatadri Naidu Bahadur. During the administration of Mr. Raja Vasireddy Venkatadri Naidu, road robberies and thefts were happening, people were scared and demanded that these robberies should be stopped and they should be punished appropriately. And it is believed that Sri Raja Vasireddy Venkatadri Naidu, who had severely punished some thieves, could not tolerate peace of mind or even food and drink, so he wanted to atone for this and built temples. Considering that rice is the form of Parabrahma, even though there are no temples for Brahma, a temple for Brahma was built in Koneru and the temple was named as Chaturmukha Brahmalingeswara Swamy. Morning abhishekams are specially done in Adivams on Thursdays for the planetary value of Guru, who is the presiding deity of Brahma for the planet Jupiter. Sri Sahasralingeswara Swami Vari Devasthanam (East and West Shiva Temples). Sri Ranganadha Swamy's Devasthanam on the south side and Sri Venugopala Swamy's Devasthanam on the North side. Octagonal with Sri Ammavarla Temples on the four corners and Sri Chaturmukha Brahmalingeswara Swami's Devasthanam is enshrined in Koneru in the middle. There is a Sri Brahma temple in Chebrolu village in the state of Andhra Pradesh in southern India and a Sri Brahma temple in Pushkar in the state of Rajasthan. This temple is under the supervision of the Department of Archeology and is being administered by the Executive Officer of the State Devadaya Charity Department.

This is one of the five major historic temples and monasteries in Chebrolu, quite possibly the most picturesque. It sits within the serene reflective waters of the temple tank, a symmetric square plan architecture from 7th to 8th century just feels harmonious as the light, sky and shadows play with the geometry. There is walkway across the temple tank to the sanctum platform (similar to the Golden temple in Amritsar). On a square open space sits a square mandapa on a thin pitha (platform). Twelve pillars form a covered mandapa that also works as pradakshinapatha (circumambulation passage). Right in the center of this is the square sanctum. The vimana and superstructure is Dravida style, yet the aedicules here on the walls of are Nagara (north Indian) style. The Gajalakshmi is delicately carved on the lalitabimba (lintel) of the sanctum doorway. The Shiva linga inside the sanctum has four faces (chaturmukha), with each face showing a seated yogi which is unusual. Also unusual is the yoni that is bowl-shaped (inverted kamala or lotus). The top of the linga too is a sophisticated masterpiece of artwork. Outside, you will see several Sanskrit inscriptions in Telugu script, which helps date and trace the history of this temple and Chebrolu as a Hindu pilgrimage site.
It is very rare type temple of lord Brahma. Temple is in the middle of pond.it is actually temple complex there are total 12 temples in the surroundings, in that 4 are sivalayams, all are very old temples may be 700-800 years back. Must visit place for devotees
It was quite an ancient temple one must visit when they are in Andhra Pradesh. Though the water surrounded by the temple are not clean but the temple got very rich history and being only two Brahma temples exist in India Varanasi and Chebrolu. We had a great time in the temple and darshanam was very spectacular.
