I've not visited on island as river flowing above the connecting road. But, this the right time (Rainy season) to visit to get the best view of river and you can also enjoy boating. They charge Rs50 for up-down to river island. Good for picnic purpose.

Best place for picnic. It is an island on shivnath rivar located in bilaspur district. Here you will be amazed to see some beautiful historical temple and art. In this place you can also enjoy boating and swimming. madku dweep is very peaceful place, it is far away from city's disturbance. There is amazing place for photography and videography. One problem you would be faced that there isn't any dhaba or hotel so you have to keep your own food before visiting here.

The site of Madku Dweep was discovered in the late 20th century. Excavation at the site unearthed debris of old temples and, sculptures of spiritual importance. In the recent past Arun Sharma, a retired archaeologist from ASI planned and reconstructed the old temples from the site lending it a new character. Mudku Island The natural beauty in the form of island is very ancient delightful place, as it is divided into two parts of the river Shivnath river. There are ancient Shiva temples and many architectural blocks on this island. Two very ancient Shiva temples of about 10th and 11th centuries are situated on this island. Madku Dweep is at a distance of 25 km from Bilaspur and about 79 km from the capital city of Raipur. First of the for the cost of crossing matku dweep is very high and the distance between them is not even 100 m . And there were no large number of boats as well there were no shops to buy eating stuff. And in really we didn't saw many tourists. Afternoon I would suggest not to visit over here. You will regret for sure. And yeah if you are nature lover or any kind of photographer must visit but there is nothing special.

Nice place for picnic.. travelling.. celebrate birthdays party..and other parties..you can go there with family, Friends and also in couple..The best months for go there is during starting raining season not later and best timing is evening sunset time .

This is a place for the nature lovers with views of an island and more. Perfect for a little getaway from the city life.

Place is related 19 temples of 11th century during the kachuri dynasty and spot is created by Directorate of Culture and archaeology, Government of Chhattisgarh in the year 2011
