Great place for one day picnic..touch of nature with joyful ambience..
Beautiful and breathtaking and more so during monsoons. The drive was equally beautiful. Not sure if swimmimg's allowed.
FYI. It's a Stop Dam ! It was indeed a task trying to find the place, took us good 2 hrs to figure out the entry side and the road (well there is no road) is miserable. You might want to in an semi-off-road vehicle. There are few spots close to the water where you can wet your feet, another where you can enjoy the view with crisp breeze. Google maps took me to the other end which was a dead end, do always check with locals.
Very good place to visit and for picnic also.

About 40 km from Rajnandgaon is the Kharkhara Dam on the Dalli-Rajhara road. This is a great picnic spot where there is a good means of entertainment available for everyone from children to elders. It is also a great place for photography. There are two routes available to go to Sir Crime in which we have to go inside about 8 kilometers from the turn.
Its a good place and need to develop it as a picnic spot, it provides great view as compared to Gangrel dam. We miss the restaurant there. I hope govt. will look after it and develop it accordingly. Saving that one star for later.....
