It's a great experience to be associated with Digante. A villagic atmosphere surrounded by mango orchard and lots of fresh air. It's not a far from Kolkata city. I arranged a bordership for my senior friend on 2020. He was alone and was suffering from several health ailments. I used to visit him frequently. It was really astonishing to see his improvement day by day and just by their nursing and personal caring. Mostly the borders are senior citizens and having different health issues. Digante staff and caretakers use to take care of each and every borders. They provide fresh and healthy diet . Digante arrange celebration of each and every fastival like Saraswati puja, Holli, Bengali New Year day, Independence day, Durga puja, Diwali, X- Mas day and every border's birthday. We were looking for a place for my 90 year old mother, Gauri Qanungo. She was spending her retired life at Santiniketan with several caretakers. But with her age and medical needs, it was getting difficult for us to give her the best possible care. As the only child, I live far away, and my options were limited. So we were looking for a loving home for her. After searching for more than a year, Digante was recommended by one of my very very good friend. His mother spent her last days at Digante, and I did not look back and immediately spoke to Dr. Aparna Lahiri Chatterjee, who founded Digante and runs it. After several long conversations, we were convinced we found the right place. Dr. Aparna madam runs this place out of a total charity through BOSDU Charitable Trust. She has no business interest in this place and just wants to do something different for society. So finally, in December 2022, I moved my mother to Digante. It was also very convenient for us as our relatives live nearby in Bhadreswar and Serampore. I personally stayed with her at Digante for a few days too. I was thoroughly impressed by how efficiently and passionately Dr. Aparna runs this place. Each and every caretakers were extremely nice, helpful, and very warm. So even after four months, my mother is pleased and feels at home. Every weekend, Dr. Lahiri Chatterjee travels from Kolkata to Digante to supervise everything, meet with the residents, and discuss their well-being and medical needs. My mother has limited vision stemmed from a shingles infection many years ago and then metabolic disorders. Dr. Aparna madam being a doctor with DISHA eye hospital, took the initiative and getting her checked regularly at Disha. She had a residual herpetic infection in her eyes that went undiagnosed for many years, and hopefully, her vision may improve a little more and give her a much better quality of life. For all these efforts, we are indebted to Dr. Aparna, to say the least. There are many, many small things for which she goes above and beyond. Digante celebrates many occasions with the residents, but Saraswati puja was not one of them. My mother, a former school teacher in Patha Bhavan, Santiniketan, was missing that and asked her. In the middle of the week, she immediately called the caretakers and arranged the Saraswati Puja with a window of 48 hours. I was touched deeply by this gesture. Who in this modern society will go that much out of the way to fulfill a tiny request from a resident? Kalpanadi takes care of my mother and is beside her 24/7, and my mother and we are happier than ever with her care. The residents are wonderful, as they are selected very carefully. The food is very good with a lot of variation and tasteful. It is totally home cooking as per the need of the residents. All the residents meet and chat over breakfast and evening. The atmosphere is very, very peaceful amidst a mango orchard far away from the maddening crowd of the city, yet equipped with every facility and medical need. I am highly impressed and thankful that we have found Digante and Dr. Aparna madam. Digante is my mother's new home so as ours. God bless you all for what you all do for the society and the needy

An wonderful place for stay for our beloved elders. I availed the short stay facilities here for my father and he was very happy with the hospitality, food, and surroundings. The stuffs are like family members, always keeping an watchful eyes to the needs of the aged people who are staying there. It was a great experience. Special mention has to go to Doctor Madam, she is very dedicated for the betterment of the entire facility. Overall a great experience.

Both my in laws are staying at Digante for last few months and I can only say that it's been an extremely satisfying experience so far. With my father in law's deteriorating health with senile dementia it was very difficult to manage in a regular home setting. Both of them are well looked after and cared for under Dr Lahiri's able guidance and supervision and by the resident staff of Digante. The food is healthy and tasty exactly for the boarders. They are happy and worry free in a pleasant, nature friendly ambience which was the core motivation for the move.

Digante has started off with an noble intension to serve elderly persons.Generally old age homes are considered as a sign of rejection. But in a real sense digante is well equipped with a variety of facilities. Old people living here are provided with all kinds of facilities like entertainment, physical workout, etc., which keeps them busy as well as fit. Well done digante team for this humanitarian initiative. Most importantly Dr Aparna, the founder even being a doctor, is very much down to earth and very much sympathetic person.Yes,my relatives are in safe hands and in safe place. Yours parents will definitely in safe place and hands. I would strongly recommend digante for your parents.

My mother (late Maya Mukherjee) stayed there for a very long period close to around two years and four months before we lost her forever... She was suffering from dementia, old age, and various other kinds of illnesses. Dementia started becoming acute during the horrible days of the first covid lockdown, and she got transferred in 2020, May/June to Digante. We are extremely indebted to Dr. Aparna for her warm and caring gestures, medical supervision, professionalism, and patience, she displayed during those tough times of two years and four months. My mother like many other senior citizens needed repeating and regular medical interventions. The biggest advantage of this home is the presence of Dr. Aparna, herself, who used to always help by going out of her way, responding even in the middle of the night to any emerging medical conditions of Ma. The home is neat and clean, managed by a group of efficient and empathetic staff, presenting before boarders food with apt dietary provisions. Ma, like other boarders, used to get her BP, and pulse rate checked at some regular intervals, blood collection for biochemistry reports was just a call away! Ma got admitted to the hospital and nursing home thrice. In each of the cases, Digante took complete responsibility for rising up to the occasion of an emergency, communicating with us on each and every step, and taking her to the hospital and nursing home respectively. Before I could reach all those cases, I found the doctors have been appropriately briefed and the treatment already started. Digante has personal (Dr. Aparna's contact) and professional tie-ups with Nursing homes and hospitals nearby, and so does for each and every small but extremely essential service (like blood collection, getting portable Xray done, delivery of personal essentials, medicines, visit of doc, vehicles, and ambulances) Ma in her good days ( as for dementia patients mood swing is normal), used to participate in various in-house events (birthday, pandal hopping during the Durga Puja, Holi, etc). Ma left us forever when she finally got into a kind of cerebral attack with no chance of return. Digante, and Dr. Aparna, took immediate action by sending her to the nursing home of my choice, where she got necessary and immediate medical attention. She left us forever the next day! I have visited Digante countless times (as Ma kept on having mood swings and other ailments). Most of my Ma's other illnesses(cardiac, eye, etc) were treated on a day visit to different hospitals, contacted, and managed by Digante staff under the supervision of Dr. Aparna. During many such instances, even I was not present! The best part is the continuous , honest communication taking place between Digante and us. They never hide anything from us. Never. We used to get regular, realistic feedback on her health and activity every time we called. During my mother's stay, I have been detected with the serious-most form of one of the diseases and needed immediate medical intervention, and thus absent for a longer period of time from Ma and Digante. Even under such uncertain conditions, Digante and Dr. Aparna assured me of all possible help to my mother in case of any eventualities happening with my life. I will never forget that! My mother's last journey has been completely assisted by staff from Digante. In fact, they have arranged everything, not allowing me to even purchase the slightest of essentials. They were with me till the last possible ritual. We are extremely indebted to Dr. Aparna and Digante. We still consider Digante as my mother's last home, from where she started journeying for eternity! No words of appreciation and thank you would be adequate to express our sincerest gratitude to Dr. Aparna and Digante! I am personally ever indebted to you Dr. Aparna and Digante!

Digante.... Probably the best in the category. Run by a group of passionate doctors of the city. Yes it's run by no business interests..... If you visit, see the residents.... U must bound to believe the idea of such noble cause. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Never seems like you are out of your own home. Really a second home in last innings of your life. Hats off to such good human being.

Yes, ideal place for my parents. Excellent facilities. Excellent emergency medical services, what exactly % needed by seniors. Food is also good and fresh. All types of food served in routined manner. Good Physiotherapy service available. Big hand to the mam behind the curtain..... Dr Aparna.
